Cynthia Chernyavsky, PT, MDT, RYT | Physical Therapist
With over 28 years of experience, Cynthia has practiced physical therapy in a wide variety of clinical settings ranging from hospitals, sub-acute rehab, assisted living, nursing homes, outpatient clinics, and home health. Throughout her career she has been able to gain valuable experience to help her become a highly skilled and versatile clinician. A majority of her practice has focused on outpatient orthopedic practice, where she specialized in mechanical diagnosis and treatment of the spine. In 2013, she received her spine specialist certification through the McKenzie Institute. She then practiced in an outpatient setting specializing in the treatment of musculoskeletal, neurological, pre- and post-operative surgical conditions.
Cynthia has found great satisfaction in helping her patients return to their normal activities and hobbies without limitations and live pain-free and fulfilling lives. She treated hundreds of cervical, thoracic and lumbar conditions involving pain and physical impairments, many related to pelvic floor dysfunction. Cynthia then shifted her focus and trained to treat pelvic floor dysfunction through the Herman and Wallace institute. Her knowledge, passion, experience and drive to continually further her education enhances her skills as a pelvic health clinician to provide the best care for those affected by these conditions to return to pain-free and optimal living. |
In her free time, Cynthia practices yoga and became a certified instructor. She is currently a registered yoga teacher through the Yoga Alliance. She likes to incorporate yoga techniques to enhance her clinical practice. Her passion and drive has led her daughter to follow in her footsteps to earn her doctorate degree in physical therapy by 2021.
Fun fact: Cynthia learned to play chess at the age of 9. While in physical therapy school, she was able to make extra money by betting on chess games and won almost every game! Cynthia still plays chess with her husband and remains undefeated.
