Yoga Classes
![]() Yoga is a type of physical and mental exercise that has been used in traditional Indian medicine for many centuries. It continues to grow as a complementary modality in western medicine for reducing pain and improving quality of life.

Connect PT is excited to offer yoga classes taught by two of our therapists, Aisling Linehan, PT and Marzena Bard, PTA, who are also licensed yoga instructors. Physical Therapy for Urinary Incontinence: More Than Just Exercise: September 2014, Atlantic City, NJ
Michelle was a guest speaker for the Philippine-American Medical Society of New Jersey's 44th Annual Scientific Seminar. She educated more than 70 physicians on the benefits of physical therapy for stress urinary incontinence. Yoga for Kids with Special Needs: March, May 2014 - Connect Physical Therapy, Hamilton, NJ Marzena taught two yoga classes for children with autism at our office. She enjoyed teaching kids and parents fun and exciting ways to exercise with yoga. Learn How to Use the Gym Equipment: August 2013 - Allentown, NJ Michelle instructed residents of Four Seasons at Upper Freehold, NJ on how to properly use their on-site gym equipment. Myofascial Release for Pelvic Dysfunction: June 2013 - Philadelphia, PA Michelle enjoyed introducing myofascial release to physical therapists as a lab assistant during this continuing education course. Women's and Men's Health in Physical Therapy Today, Take II: March 2013 - West Windsor, NJ Michelle returned to Mercer County Community College to speak with physical therapy assistant students about women's and men's health, and the assistants' role in treating these specialty conditions. Cara Projects Orphanage: February 2013 - Nairobi, Kenya Aisling joined 20 volunteers on a trip to Kenya. She was instrumental in developing a physical therapy gym for children from the orphanage. The children are now able to enjoy yoga, meditation, and stretching. "Women's and Men's Health in Physical Therapy Today": February 2012 - West Windsor, NJ Michelle educated physical therapy assistant students at MCCC on women's and men's health, and the assistants' role in treating these specialty conditions. "Pelvic Floor Function, Dysfunction and Treatment (Level 2B)": February 2012 - New York, NY Michelle lab assisted this continuing education course for physical therapists on female urogynecologic conditions. "Are You Suffering from Interstitial Cystitis or Painful Bladder Syndrome?": June 2010 - New Brunswick, NJ Michelle spoke about the relationship between interstitial cystitis (IC) and the pelvic floor muscles. She reviewed how physical therapists can be important team members in improving quality of life for patients with IC. "You Don't Have to Live with Incontinence": March 2010 - Lawrenceville, NJ Michelle spoke about the loss of bladder control among women and men, as well as conservative methods to regain continence, comfort, and convenience. "Annual Women's Health Symposium": May 2009 - Borough Park, Brooklyn Michelle spoke about the relationship between pregnancy, post-partum, and urinary incontinence. "Getting Back to Life After Breast Surgery": November 2008 - Bay Ridge, Brooklyn Michelle spoke about how physical therapy can help women after breast surgery regain posture and strength.
